What you should know about this month’s jobs report:
-The economy gained 163,000 jobs in July, while economists expected 100,000
-Unemployment rate ticked up to 8.3 percent (Moody’s says this change isn’t statistically signifcant)
-The unemployment rate would be a full percentage point lower, if not for budget cutbacks affecting hundreds of thousands of public sector jobs.
-A conservative tally finds that Mitt Romney’s plan would actually kill 360,000 jobs in 2013 alone.
